Backing
The Archenergia project was seed-financed by cheapersimpler.com. It is receiving support from business
leaders in Italy and various social and monastic entities.
Use
The company hopes to license its technology to governments, energy producers, builders, shipyards, and
industrial groups.
Warning
The reaction of most engineers has been negative on the concept, but they generally recommend that
prototypes be built, just in case it works.

The Veliero Project (Arch:657)
Appearing at first sight utopian, this project seeks to validate hydrostatic equilibrium theories as
hypothesized by Galileo, Archimedes and Leonardo da Vinci and use them to produce energy without using
nuclear or fossil fuels. With plentiful, cheap energy, most other problems can be fixed.
Veliero works 24h in any weather. Solar, wind and bio power can of course be added.
The project can be scaled to any size, from city-blocks to village.
Veliero functions in urban, rural or coastal environments and can be adapted to be self-sufficient in food.
Modules can be joined together to add capacity or new functional and leisure requirements.
Similar to a docked cruise-ship, a big Veliero would be intrinsically earthquake and wave resistant far beyond
levels that are fatal for standard buildings.
It can be placed on water, land, reclaimed areas, landfills, or coastal zones flooded by rising oceans.
Veliero's core-concept is energy-production - all the rest is classical engineering.
All elements can be industrially pre-fabricated as a kit to be mounted in situ.
Or it can be pre-built at shipyards and towed to site, like a floating dock.
Research on scale-models is being done to find ways of making the concept viable.
